Boston Redevelopment Authority is reorganized.
January 25, 1961
After the BRA board approves the measure by a 3 to 2 margin, Ed Logue is appointed administrator, with authority over all new projects, and former director Kane Simonian is named executive secretary, with authority over the existing New York Streets and West End urban renewal programs. The number of staff is subsequently increased from 16 to nearly 500, and the BRA becomes the largest agency in city government. Logue resigns and submits his final report in August 1967.*
